1,734 Infants survive abortions in the US every year

When it comes to abortion, the United States is lacking quality data. Abortion recording requirements in the US are often either missing or else full of inconsistencies and gaps. As things currently stand, the only reasonable estimates of the number of born alive abortions must come through extrapolation.

As the only organization in the world so connected with and dedicated to abortion survivors, we have analyzed, and continue to analyze data from countries who record abortion survival numbers in order to estimate just what we might be missing in the US.

“On behalf of the Abortion Survivors Network and the tens of thousands of abortion survivors and their families, we applaud Congresswoman Wagner’s leadership in ensuring infants like me, and countless others are guaranteed medical care and legal protections when abortions fail and life wins. This legislation will save lives. The Abortion Survivors Network is committed to serving survivors of abortion at any gestational age, along with their mothers, who deserve compassionate prenatal and postpartum care, a delivery plan, and emotional support. Let us work together to ensure that infant survivors and their mothers receive the best medical and emotional care possible. We are proud to stand with Congresswoman Wagner in support of this legislation.”

Meet Our Survivors

Lauren is a wife, a mom to three busy boys, and a second trimester abortion survivor. Over the past eighteen years, Lauren has served on three church staffs in the Atlanta, Georgia area and has become passionate about the church’s role in coming alongside of women who find themselves in an unplanned pregnancy. She considers herself a champion for life and for the next generation.

Denisha Workizer is a passionate advocate for life. She discovered as an adult that she survived her mother’s abortion attempts, both a chemical abortion and a DNC abortion. She offers a transparent look into her life as she found out this life-altering information. As an abortion survivor, Denisha brings a unique voice to humanize the unborn. She worked for twenty years in professional leadership and corporate management before becoming an ordained minister. She served as a minister at her church for ten years and most recently followed her passion for becoming an advocate for life.

It’s important to have real data and hear real voices.

Let’s chat!

Our goal is to spotlight the reality that babies survive abortions.

We know them. We love them. We have new data to show you how many there really are.
