“Every abortion survivor’s experience is unique — from the type of abortion attempt they survived, their gestational age when it occurred and the impact upon them physically and emotionally, to whether they are raised by their biological or an adoptive family and even when and how they learn their story.”
– Melissa Ohden
The only worldwide abortion-survivors network
The Abortion Survivors Network is the only support and advocacy organization worldwide for babies who have survived abortion and their families. Our groundbreaking research on Canadian data indicates there were minimally 1,734 abortion survivors in the U.S. in 2020 alone. Forty-nine years of Roe would fill more than a Super Bowl stadium!
A driving force for recognition
Since 2019, we’ve connected with nearly 643 survivors. We’ve restored them with healing groups, empowered them with community support, and equipped them to find and use their voice. Where you see abortion survivors in the media, at events, or in policy hearings, we’re the driving force.
Putting a face on abortion
No one humanizes abortion the way abortion survivors do. In 2023, we’re launching our Ambassadors program, activating survivors in their states to make them visible and abortion unthinkable. Additionally, we’re launching collaborative training on responding to and supporting women after failed chemical abortions in this new post-Roe America.
