“I took the first pill and now I regret it.”

Is It Possible To Reverse The Abortion Pill?

We all have the right to change our minds after making a decision, but some decisions are easier to reverse than others. Have you started the abortion pill process but changed your mind? You have every right to, and there may still be time to save your pregnancy if you act quickly!

What Is Abortion Pill Reversal?

The Abortion Pill Method

At this stage of your pregnancy, you have most likely taken a home pregnancy test and hopefully confirmed the results with an ultrasound. If a viable pregnancy (growing with a detectable heartbeat) is verified, and you are early in your pregnancy, many abortion providers recommend using the abortion pill method for termination.

The abortion pill uses two drugs over a 24 to 48-hour period. The first drug, mifepristone, blocks a vital growth hormone called progesterone from reaching the uterus. Without progesterone, the pregnancy ends.

Misoprostol, the second drug, causes the uterus to contract to expel the pregnancy through the vagina.

The Reversal Process

No woman should ever feel forced to finish an abortion she regrets. To reverse the effects of mifepristone, a medical professional introduces large doses of progesterone. Studies have shown that high doses of progesterone are safe and effective (through oral doses – 68% success rate or intramuscularly – 64% success rate), and there is no apparent increased risk of birth defects

How Do I Begin The Reversal Process?

Many women have successfully reversed the effects of the abortion pill. If you have taken the first pill (mifepristone) but have second thoughts, you may still have time to save your pregnancy. But act quickly!
