Type of abortion survived: Vacuum Aspiration
“I don’t really know where I was born or what day. What I do know is some time in 1979 my birth mother went to an abortion clinic on a migrant farm. She didn’t know how far along she was and they attempted an abortion. I was born instead. She fled the clinic leaving myself and my 2 year old brother. Several days or weeks later I was brought to a hospital and surrendered. After doctorsnsaved my life and I was well enough I was placed in foster care where my brother was waiting for me. 6 years and 36 homes later we were given our forever home. I was given a name and a date of birth. It is stamped in 1985.“
What Kimberly wants you to know:
I was not a choice. I was chosen. My life mattered then and it matters now.
Micaella’s Story

It’s not lost on me knowing that I was the perfect target for human trafficking. I was a female with no name and no record of birth. I could have easily disappeared into a world where no one knew I existed. I thank God for my life every day.
Micaella’s message to a mom considering abortion: Your baby may not have been planned by you but they are planned. Maybe not even for you. There’s a family out there waiting to love
them.
